The wait is nearly over! After five years of work it is with pleasure that we can announce that Volume I of the long-awaited third edition of Spitfire Survivors will be published in October 2010. Authors Gordon Riley and Graham Trant were joined by noted Spitfire historian Peter Arnold in September 2009. As a result of Peter's input the new edition is much larger than originally envisaged and will be published in two volumes. Volume I covers the Spitfire Mks I - XII and will be published in October 2010 with Volume II following in mid-2011. Volume I alone amounts to a total of 572 pages with over 900 photographs. Spitfire Survivors is being published simultaneously in two different editions - a black and white edition at a budget price and a full-colour edition at a higher price. The aim is to make the book accessible to all who have an interest in the history of the surviving Spitfires.
